Keune’s first major innovation came when he developed a formula for the liquid perm, becoming the first European manufacturer of this product. Despite the expansive international growth, Keune is still family-owned and operated. George Keune Sr., son of founder Jan Keune, still shows up to work at headquarters in Soest, The Netherlands, every day—even after 65 years with the company. Talk about loving your job! George Sr.’s two sons also work at Keune. George Jr. visits North America frequently and always makes sure to stop by Keune Academy by 124 Atlanta campus. When we met George Jr. back in 2012 we quickly realized the similarities in Salon 124 Group’s and Keune’s core values. That’s what made our decision to bring in Keune Haircosmetics exclusively at our cosmetology schools and rebrand our name (you may remember The Process Institute of Cosmetology) an easy fit.
Keune’s most popular product during the era represented.
Cheers to 95 years of true beauty!
